Mariota Discusses Status of Injured Teammates Brown and Grasu BY MCKALIE BELLEW· NOVEMBER 13, 2014 (fishduck) FishDuck writer Ashley Young interviewed Marcus Mariota at the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex today. This morning’s interview with Mariota was short and sweet, and focused on his teammates rather than the upcoming game against Colorado — the last game in Autzen Stadium this season! Did it go by super fast, or is it just me? The first teammate that Mariota was asked about was Pharaoh Brown. Mariota explained that he spoke to Brown and that he is doing well. He is in Cleveland with family now trying to get healthy. Mariota said that although the win against Utah was a good one, it was bittersweet to walk away from. The focus of the interview shifted to the new center who will be filling in for injured Hroniss Grasu. When asked if the low snaps we saw in last weekend’s game against the Utes will be seen again, Mariota explained that Doug Brenner may have been a little anxious and excited to get in the game, but it’s a work in progress and they have to work together. Mariota also said that Grasu should be back this season, as he is working on getting healthy right now. Finally, the possibility of it being Mariota’s last game in Autzen Stadium was brought into question. “I haven’t really put much thought into it,” Mariota said. He said he just wants to be there and have a good game with the seniors while staying focused on the game. Although it has been said that Utah was our last truly difficult obstacle to overcome, Colorado is no exception. As the game gets closer, I’m sure we’ll hear more about what is to be expected in this final showdown in Autzen for the 2014 season. In the meantime, we wish our injured Ducks a quick and speedy recovery and look forward to hopefully seeing all of them back on that field strong and healthy as soon as possible.
