Maritime law expert out there anywhere ? My friend was booked for speeding in Poole Harbour by the Harbour Master. She admitted to the offence - it went to court and she was fined £50 for the offence and £20 for court costs - all ok so far. Subsequently she received a bill from the Harbour Authorities for the fine AND their Legal Team costs - total bill was £1050 ? Now as I see it if you have admitted guilt and do not intend to appeal in court why do they need to have a lawyer in court to represent them ? Any ideas anyone ? Martin
