Marleys Mutts Dog Rescue prides itself in being of assistance to dogs who have lost hope. In many cases this involves being of assistance to like minded folks who have picked up a worthy cause and could use some Mutt Militia love. Vafa Animal Shelter is one such worthy cause with very dedicated volunteers. This incredible Org helps get dogs out of Irans only animal shelter and stateside for a new lease on life. These dogs are not political prisoners but have little to no chance at survival if they are left in Tehran, Iran. Iran is not where you want to be if you are a shelter dog. Some of you may be asking Why Iran?, why not stick to rescuing dogs who need our help here?. That is a fair question. We have to help these dogs come to America because, like Dr. Grossman used to say--WE CAN!!! and 2) Because those involved with Vafa and saving these dogs need our support. They are leading a grassroots charge to make a difference and the Mutt Militia and all its influence should know about it. Movements like this can affect great, positive cultural change and we want/need to be a part of it. Thank you to Holly for fostering Tootak and to Farah for introducing us to such a wonderful organization. The dogs we will be rescuing are named Tootak and Rasha and Tootak is a dead ringer for Sonar. We are grateful to be involved and hope these efforts and this post encourage more of you to get involved with Vafa. Their plane arrives on the 24th on a connection from Frankfurt and the crew will be there to welcome them to the USA!
