Marshall joined the Lone Star Bulldog Club Rescue family about a month ago, after one of our volunteers picked him up from a Fort Worth shelter. He certainly was on the skinny side, but his foster momma was ready to plump him up with some good nutrition. In his foster home, he quickly bonded with fellow foster dog Teddy and the two of them had a great time at our big Bull-O-Ween event a couple weeks ago. Marshall proved to his foster parents that he was a pro with all the basic obedience commands, like sit, shake, stay, lay down and roll over… which made them wonder: “Where did Marshall learn all that? Someone must be missing this sweet boy.” Well, that “someone” came forward just this week! As it turns out, Marshall is named Tex. His original parents just so happened to see photos of him on our website and notified us right away. It was quite a shock to the Plano family because Tex had been missing for more than a year after a pet sitter accidentally left a gate open. Tex had a microchip implanted, but it had not been registered. :( (A good reminder to all of us: please make sure you have current contact info on your dogs’ chips!) So, today, we celebrate a happy and tearful reunion! Tex, you are home, sweet boy…. We look forward to reading your memoirs of your life on the lam. : )
