Dwayne was the grandson of Nicholas Leinenweaver who was born in Prussia, Germany, but died in McHue and is buried at Alderbrook Cemetery in Desha. Nick lived near a spring located where Kyler road intersects with the Camp Tahkodah road. Today, the spring is called Leinenweaver. During the Civil War days the spring was called Gilbert and a rebel-rouser was standing on a big rock at the spring giving a speech which John and Lewis Graddy disliked. When the Graddy brothers tried to debate with him, the rebel-rouser demanded that they stop interrupting and pulled a gun and pointed it at John Graddy. Lewis Graddy saw him and threw a Bowie knife that went through the rebel rouser, killing him on the spot. The Graddy brothers took their families to Illinois to live until the war was over. When the Graddys returned to the Ed Taylor Holler, Lewis was tried in Batesville for the knifing, but was found innocent because of self defense.
