Maruti Alto Vs. Audi A3 So, Maruti released the Chase life Ad on 4th Nov and they want to look peppy. For probably the first time in a long time, the mileage factor wasnt injected into the ad (other than for a graphic) and on the whole, the ad., does incite one to take notice if only for the passing thought of so the Alto still exists to go through their head. What looks like a (broadly speaking) well - worked ad for the Alto, bears too much similarity to what looks like a lazy ad for the Audi A3 released in 2013, for it to be a co-incidence. So, either the Alto Ad. was inspired (again... very broadly speaking) by the A3 ad OR this is one of those amazing cases of parallel thinking by two great (read average) minds (give or take the passing of a whole year between them). Luck or strategy wise, Maruti does better because Audi s last years Ad. (launched somewhere other than India), has been recycled for India this year (cos, fvk the peasants) and started airing on TV slightly over a month after the Alto Ad. such that the Alto demographic, might just think Audi copied Maruti ! (unless they do a google search, at least. (Aint nobody got time for that rite?)) 2.568 / 5 (for both. 0 for the copycat but therell never be damning evidence)
