Mary Elizabeth Boleware Cole Hiscox (aka Essie) March 5, 1932 to June 17, 1998. Today we remember. A gracious, gentle woman who was a daughter, a sister, a niece, a wife, a mother, a mother-in-law, a grandmother, an aunt, a friend, a caregiver, -- a believer in and follower of Jesus the Christ. 15 years ago today, at "the bend of the road", Essie went home to be with the Lord - her escort - none other than the God of angel armies. Of that I am certain. We miss her. We miss her voice. We miss her soft cloud of hair. We miss her arms. We miss her praying for us. We miss her being here with us - in the really rough times. We miss her being here with us in the really joyful times. We miss her quilts and her iced tea. We miss her dry sense of humor. We miss her calming influence in our lives. We also know that she loved us deeply and intensely. And would have also loved those who would join the family by birth or by marriage after she was gone. We miss her. But with hope. Because she knew and served Jesus - we have a certain hope that she is safe - she is at peace - she is with Him - and we will be joyfully re-united with her someday. Today we remember. I love you Mom.
