Mary H Escoe here is the Montie Johnson Fresh Apple Cake recipe that I made for our Christmas party. Hope you enjoy making it and I am glad you liked it! As you see from her original index card, there is no oven temperature. I baked it at 350 until the middle was done. (Testing by inserting a steak knife at different times in the middle to see if the knife came out dry or wet. Bake until it comes out dry). Be sure to use brown sugar for the icing. I had this before made with white sugar and it came out gritty. By the way, on the icing, (the card is a little hard to see) use 1/2 c. of real butter. I let the cake partly cool off before pouring the icing over it. Didnt want the icing melt. Merry Christmas!
