Mary Jo Hussein Barber Valladolid, last night, after the PP conference. “OK, so there was a group of us at [restaurant] La Parilla de San Lorenzo because we knew there were some of the PP in there, so we went to chant “your envelopes are our cutbacks” and it must have really annoyed them, they must have called the riot police. A load of vans rolled up, they got out and pushed us and started to hit us just like that, hitting us for no reason. They broke my wife’s hand, they hit her in the mouth with a baton. They hit me with batons on my legs, my arms, my head. And just because I asked him why he was hitting me. “Why are you hitting me?” And the guy would hit me on the legs. “Why are you still hitting me?” and he would hit me on the leg again. I said, “You’re very brave when you have a baton and a gun”, and he put away his baton and punched me in the mouth. So I said, “You’re so brave, yeah? Because you are not going to knock me down no matter how much you hit me”. He took out his baton and hit me on the head, really hard, and then he hit me on the arms again, and then I saw my wife and I went mad and I nearly did something stupid.”
