Maryland Gov.-elect Larry Hogan (R) got a glimpse Saturday of the Annapolis mansion that he will call home for at least the next four years. Hogan and members of his family were given a tour of Government House, the official residence of Maryland’s governors since 1870, by outgoing Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) and members of his family. Afterward, they walked over to the State House to look at the suite of offices the governor and his staff occupy. In a statement released after his visit, Hogan, who takes office Jan. 21, noted that both the State House and Government House were “beautifully decorated for the holidays” and he thanked O’Malley and his wife for their hospitality. “They have been gracious to me, my family, and my staff throughout the transition, and I am grateful to them for their words of encouragement as I prepare to be sworn in as the 62nd governor of Maryland,” Hogan said.
