Massive Challenge Complete WATFORD FC Community Trust and Watford Mencap Team completed the London to Amsterdam bike ride after 145 miles and two consecutive days of cycling. A group of 19 riders took part to this challenge in order to raise money for the Hornets’ self-financing Trust and Watford Mencap. The team managed to raise almost £9k. Not only season tickets holders and supporters of both charities but also representatives from a number of local companies which had partnered up for this good cause were committed in this bike ride, including: Corona Energy - independent energy supplier to UK businesses, Mala Communications - independent company involved in telecoms cost management and telecoms expense management services and Energie Fitness for Women – fitness and health club for women of all ages, shapes and fitness levels. There’s still time to donate and you can do so by clicking https://make-a-donation.org/campaign/london-to-amsterdam-1 . Funds will be split 50/50 between the Trust and Watford Mencap and will be used to carry on the Trust and Mencap projects working alongside disabled, kids and young people in the local community. The team of intrepid cyclists set off early morning on Friday from the England capital and managed to reach the centre of Amsterdam on Saturday evening. Andrea Viglieno, Trust’s Business Development Executive and coordinator of the project said: “I would like to thank Watford Mencap for the excellent partnership during these past months, Giant Radlett for their help and expertise and all the participants who took part to this rewarding challenge. Also a huge ‘thank you’ to who have donated.” Fancy taking part next year?
