Match No. 2 Preview – By I.Hariyani Titrating Hitters vs Paneer Warriors MATCH FACTS Day and Date – Wednesday, 6th November, 2013 Time – 3:45 pm (Toss); 4:00 pm (Match) THE BIG PICTURE After a fantastic opening game, both teams will be looking to get the two vital points on the board and give themselves a better chance of reaching the final. There are a lot of expectations from Paneer Warriors and at the same time Titrating Hitters can be the dark horses this Season. THE TEAMS The Hitters have to put their faith in two regulars of the AKAH Cricket Team, M.Satyani and A.Mukhida. The captain will be under pressure to give his best with both bat and ball as his team lacks the depth in Batting. At the same time, A.Mukhida will have to play with a sense of responsibility as the crowd will look for him to clear the fence every now and then. The Batting Order will be interesting to see and with not too many known names, we can expect a lot of surprises. The Bowling looks strong with the same names - AKAH Strike Bowlers - M.Satyani and A.Mukhida, but the three more overs to be bowled by boys would be crucial. There are loads of girls in the team and T.Kakade or D.Quadri are expected to bowl. The Hitters lack a proper wicket-keeper in the side which may be a concern for the team and an advantage to the opposition. The Warriors will be looking up to an out-of-form yet the best all-rounder at AKAH, A.Boghani, and the experienced F.Dhanani in the Batting department. The same people will be in charge of the bowling. League star Aman Kamal will be a boost to the team. The fielding is not expected to be top-class but they would be looking to stop runs on the field as they lack the finishers to chase down a huge total or finish off the innings in style if batting first. R.Rane is expected to bowl the girl over and she might bowl the first over (as the captain generally likes to experiment in the beginning). With A.Punjani making a comeback, a lot is expected from him in terms of Batting and Wicket-keeping. PITCH REPORT The same pitch will be used again. It does have some grass which will provide movement for the seamers who will also get a good carry. The bounce will be predictable with an odd ball staying low or bouncing super-high. F.Dhanani is expected to get some turn. The ball will come on to the bat nicely and if the ball is timed well, the scoreboard shall tick along. 80 should be a good score on this wicket but anything above 50 is defendable. The pitch would pretty much stay the same through the match. Teams batting first have a better winning record; this might provoke the captains to bat first on winning the toss. It will also be getting dark as we proceed since we begin at 4pm, so winning the toss and putting runs on the board is not a bad idea for both teams. FIELD AND WEATHER CONDITIONS Dew will not play a role in the match as it only sets in after 8pm. It is expected to be partly cloudy with a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius. It is expected to be slightly humid and the wind will not be blowing too strong (11kmph), so the swing bowlers will have to work hard. IN THE SPOT-LIGHT M.Satyani - His performance and captaincy will be of much significance to the team. A.Boghani - A lot relies on this man and he will have to perform to see the Paneer Warriors home. PROBABLE XI TH - M.Satyani (C), A.Mukhida (VC), Z.Kadhiwala, N.Kajani, N. Panjwani, S.Kusuma, N.Lalani, S.Suhas, A.Budhwani, T.Kakade, D.Quadri. PW - F.Dhanani (C), A.Boghani (VC), A.Kamal, A.Punjani, A.Pujani, H.Karovalia, D.Sheikh, R.Maknojia, A.Minsariya, R.Rane, A.Dev. STATS AND TRIVIA A.Boghani has the highest runs (242) and the second-highest wickets (14) in The AKAH Cricket League. A.Boghani is only short of 8 runs to complete 250 runs in The AKAH Cricket League. F.Dhanani is only short of 1 run to complete 100 runs in The AKAH Cricket League. QUOTE “I do not believe in practice. I just feel you should go out there and play for fun. Wo toh Asad aur mera owner hai uske liye karna padta!” - F.Dhanani, Captain Paneer Warriors.
