Materialistic things change you and your perception of other people. As I was enjoying thanksgiving dinner earlier someone told me that my car was being checked out. I brush it off thinking they are joking. So hes like no Im serious. I walk outside and Im like Hey whats up whats going on? Obviously they tell me they are just checking out the car and ask me if its mine. so I tell them yea and as Im about to turn around and walk back inside I told myself lets not be a dick about this and just talk to the guys to see whats up. So after about 4 minutes of car jargon I go to walk back inside...no harm no foul. Now nothing happened from this situation and my car made it home just fine. But I got the thinking to myself I was guilty of just stereotyping some people. They were in all black hoodies and instead of me going to Hey these guys are just checking out my car. I go straight Hey they are casing it and want to break in to it. And thats not who I am. Yea its something that might be trivial to someone else but at the end of the day I feel like that is one of the major problems with society is that we automatically classify people based on their look instead of making the determination on their character and personality after the fact. Fun Mikul Fact: Little things like this bother me for days or at least hours. I hate feeling like I could have handled situations differently even though they go perfectly fine...Confessions of a perfectionist. So lesson learned for me. Dont assume...Now I can go to sleep.
