#MatiesCrush2754 So on Tuesday night (23/09), two of my friends and I went to Fort Knox at Huis Visser to watch Al Bairre, Matthew Mole and P.H. Fat. I drove my car and we parked inside between Huis Visser and Simonsberg. I think I may have accidentally stolen a Simonsberg guys parking spot because when we were ready to leave around 23h30, I was parked in. There was no one around and I wasnt going to leave my car there, so my friends proceeded to guide me in attempting a million-point turn to reverse-squeeze through a space between my car and the one that parked me in. About ten minutes into this ordeal, five-or-so guys coming from the Simonsberg direction towards the concert noticed we were struggling. In their drunken state (against which I am not discriminating, merely noting), the lot of them tried to move the car behind mine. They tried lifting it, pushing it and bouncing it, setting off its alarm at least twice, but nothing happened. We thanked them for their help and they soon moved on. Not long after that, two more guys coming from the Simonsberg direction also noticed our dilemma. Because of our previous encounter, my friends and I were not hopeful that they would be able to do anything significant. To our delight, however, the two of them, alone, managed to bounce the car away from mine four times, which provided me the perfect amount of space to reverse out of the parking spot! And not only did they provide us with useful and much-appreciated manual labour, but they also verbally guided me through the space they had just created. Needless to say, the encounter ended with grateful hugs. I think I even remember telling them I love them (LOL) because I didnt know what to do to show my appreciation. As we were heading our separate ways, I noticed how fresh those two guys actually are. I think the one was a red-head. Basically, what I want to say is thank you to those two strong, kind men for giving up a few minutes of their time to help three damsels in distress. It was much-appreciated! Also, to the guy whose parking spot I possibly yet inadvertently stole, I apologise for doing so, and I am sorry that your car had to endure such activities. I hope you can see the amusing side to this... Thirdly: to the first group of guys that tried to help us - thank you. Ill try my best to make sure that everyone knows it was your drunken states that disadvantaged you in showing off your masculinity and not your actual rescuing powers ;). And lastly, thank you Stellenbosch for providing such fine men. P.S. Sorry for the long post. The actual Crush goes out to the two guys who managed to rescue my friends and me.
