***Matthew 24:37-39 KJV But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.**** Jesus said that the days prior to His return would look like the days of Noah. He then proceeded to tell us what the days of Noah looked like. Just prior to the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. Now, here is where someone may say, well, human beings have always done this, so how can we necessarily compare today with the days of Noah? This is actually a good question. So, how is today like the days of Noah compared to say, the 1800s? I think the answer is found at the end of verse 38 and verse 39. Until the day that Noah entered into the Ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. You see, the generation that lived to see the flood had this big glaring sign staring them in the face...the ark! They saw the ark and heard the warnings of Noah that the judgment of God was coming yet they continued to eat and drink and live carelessly as if nothing was going to happen. The signs of judgment was all around them!! In our day, this generation has been bombarded with signs from God that Jesus is returning in judgment upon this world. In 1948, we saw the beginning of the construction of the ark, when Israel became a nation for the first time in 1900 years. Then in 1967, the hull of the ark started taking shape when the Jews recaptured the city of Jerusalem. Since then, we have had wars and rumors of wars, nations in distress, signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars. We are now seeing the finishing touches being put on the ark and is reaching completion, with the nations of the world in fast speed motion heading toward a covenant with many confirmed by the man of sin. Yet, people are eating and drinking and acting as though life will continue on as usual. The ark was the sign to the world that judgment was coming and when it was completed, Noah and his family entered in and God shut the door. Before Noah began construction on the ark, man really had no clue what was coming. But as soon as they saw construction begin and based on the word that God gave Noah to preach, the world was warned. So, what makes today like the days of Noah compared to other times in history? Other generations did not see the construction of the ark begin as this generation has (figuratively of course). The great sign appeared to the world on May 14, 1948, when God pysically revived the nation of Israel back in their original homeland. Eating and drinking and living lavishly continues to this day even as the world has been, and is being, presented with a flashing neon billboard...JESUS IS COMING IN JUDGMENT! The ark is being built and is near completion. Very soon, the Lord Jesus is going to call His people into the ark and shut the door on an unsuspecting world. These are indeed the days of Noah. Past generations could not see any indication of anything coming but NOW, just as the generation of Noahs day saw the ark and heard the word of God and was without excuse, so this generation has been given the same indication, and that is that God is about to judge the world! The ark is complete. All we are waiting for is Jesus to call His people inside. Then, sudden destruction and they shall not escape!
