Adam must have keenly followed all the proceedings during when God examined them after the fall; he must have listened and heard and understood the resultant sentences meted upon the serpent, and on his wife and on himself. Adam perceived, with clarity, that the loving and merciful God had restored His original intent for man to be fruitful and multiply; to fill the earth and subdue it. His wife whom he had earlier named woman, because she came out of man, had another opportunity to not only become the mother of all the leaving but also the beginning of the lineage through which Jesus Christ, the seed of the woman, would be born. THE REGENERATE MAN NAMED HIS WIFE EVE, WHICH MEANS LIFE OR LIFE GIVER, IN ANTICIPATION OF THE PROMISED SAVIOUR WHO WOULD ABOLISH DEATH AND OFFER THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE TO ALL MEN. By naming his wife Eve, Adam was loudly reiterating the proclamation of God that He would use the same vessel that Satan used to bring death upon man, God would also use it to bring life to man. Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel, 2 Timothy 1:8-10. Jesus Christ, the promised seed of the woman, was later to be born by the virgin Mary through the power of the holy spirit apart from the will or involvement of man. the bible records that IN HIM WAS LIFE, AND THE LIFE WAS THE LIGHT OF MEN John 1:4. The whole world was filled with sin and death, Satans dominion of darkness, but Christ comes as the only source of eternal life thus ending death, and also as light which is completely incomprehensible by Satan and all his forces of darkness. For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. John 5:21; For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, John 5:26. IT IS THEREFORE AN INDISPUTABLE FACT THAT ETERNAL LIFE IS OF GOD AND MAN CAN ONLY RECEIVE IT,AS A GIFT, BY GRACE, THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this? John 11:25-26; For the wages of Sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 6:23. JESUS CHRIST IS THE LIFE THAT BRINGS DEATH AND IMMORTALITY TO THE END BY REVERSING ALL THE DAMAGE BROUGHT UPON ALL MEN BY SATAN THROUGH ADAM. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6 ;And so it is written, The first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. 1 Corinthians 15:45. There is therefore no other means of reconciling man to God and restoring his relation with his creator except through Jesus Christ. THE BIBLE RECORDS IN NUMEROUS VERSES THAT ETERNAL LIFE IS BY GRACE ALONE, THROUGH FAITH ALONE, IN CHRIST ALONE APART FROM ANY HUMAN EFFORTS, RELIGIOUS PHILOSOPHIES OR WORKS OF THE LAW. And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 1 John 5:11-12 WE HAVE THIS ETERNAL AND BLESSED HOPE, THAT WE WHO HAVE PUT OUR FAITH IN CHRIST JESUS, HAVE A GUARANTEED AND RISK FREE ETERNAL LIFE. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory Colossians 3:4.
