Max Branning will join forces with Charlie Cotton on EastEnders next week as he becomes determined to get revenge on the Mitchell family. The Walford salesman is struggling to cope following the death of his partner Emma Summerhayes and spots an opportunity when he realises that Ben has been appointed power of attorney in Phils absence. Max initially raises suspicion when he apologises to Abi following a furious argument with Ben. Having originally told Ben to stay away from Abi, it appears that Max wants to make amends when he offers to help him with the Mitchell businesses. At the car lot, Max also offers his support to a struggling Charlie and tells him that he needs to be there for his baby son, but they are soon interrupted by Ben. As Max offers to help with The Arches and takes Ben inside, its obvious to Charlie that Max is out for revenge against the Mitchells, believing that Phil is to blame for Emmas death. Later, Ben visits Max with a list of contacts looking to buy cars and becomes suspicious about his new allys true intentions when Max offers him some off the books business. However, after seeking advice from Charlie, Ben decides to take Max up on the offer and it seems that Maxs revenge plan is coming together. What is he planning? EastEnders airs these scenes on Wednesday, January 7 and Thursday, January 8 on BBC One.
