May 28, 2014 Press Release 1 12:00 pm St. James Parish Inclement Weather Conditions The St. James Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness along with the St. James Parish Sheriff’s office continues to monitor weather conditions. Parish President Roussel has declared this incident a state of emergency. New Information: -The Grand Point Fire Station is open with sand and sandbags for residents to fill and pick up. -Please report flooding information to Flood@stjamesla. Make sure to include name, address, phone number, and pictures if available. -At this time, multiple highways and roads in the Parish are experiencing high water levels. For a list of current road closures, please stay tuned to lsp.org/roadclosure.html. -A shelter location is set up at Lutcher High School. Transportation services are available for elderly residents and those in low-lying areas. To schedule a ride please call 225-562-2352. ###
