May 30, 2014- West Lake Water Rescue was special requested by the United States Coast Guard to assist in the retrieval of a missing male at the foot of the cliff just west of the Erie Yacht Club. The patient had been the subject of 24 hour search by Millcreek Police and the K9 Search and Rescue team. West Lake responded with the jet skis as well as the new Zodiac boat 498. The patient was found with only minor injuries and loaded onto 498 and taken to the Erie Yacht Club, where care was transferred to Erie Fire Department and Emergycare crews. A very happy ending to the story. While back enroute to Niagara Launch, 498 came upon a female who had fallen off her boat and who was clinging to a buoy. Crews quickly loaded the patient on board and transferred her back to her boat.
