May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month: Today I would like to - TopicsExpress

May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month: Today I would like to thank some people who make a difference everyday. Thank you to all of the amazing doctors that we dealt with while Gabby was sick. The doctors at CHOP were so patient and understanding. After we were given Gabbys diagnosis (It was a rough one to handle) we would not even talk to our Neuro Oncologist. We could not even face her after the news she had given to us. So to Dr. Belasco and her colleagues at CHOP, Thank you! Thank you to all of the nurses that we worked with at CHOP. Nurse Joy was amazing! She took a lot of time with Gabby and our other girls. She even helped them have a girl party in the tub before Gabby had her biopsy. A huge Thank you to the rest of the staff at CHOP that we had to deal with through Gabbys journey. Its amazing how many different areas we were in and how many people we had to work with in that short period of time. We had Child Life, Social Work, The ER dr.s and nurses, the nurses on floor 9 when we were first admitted, the dr.s and nurses in 2 different areas of the PICU, the nurses and doctors that ran the radiation treatments, the nurses in the rehab section of the hospital, the physical therapists, occupational therapists, the speech therapists, the cafeteria staff, the ICU doctors and nurses who saved her life for us before we were prepared to let her go, and all the other people I have probably forgotten since like I said, there were so many areas! I would also like to Thank all of the Dr.s and Nurses and staff that we have come to know at Nemours/Ai DuPont Hospital for Children. Another amazing set of staff who are there for these children 24 hours a day. Our journey would have been so much different had we not encountered so many of these amazing people. Today I ask that you help us make a difference. We are trying to raise $5000 in the month of May to go towards our pledge to Nemours/ Ai Dupont Hospital for Children. We are asking our Facebook followers to please donate $1 a day in May. We have almost raised $2000 towards this goal this month. So today, skip the coffee, or the drive thru fries, bring a sandwich to the ball field and skip the concession stand, and donate towards helping these amazing children and the staff that helps make it possible to treat these kids. Visit getwellgabby.org to submit your donation online or you can mail it to PO Box 555 Ocean View, DE 19970 Thank you for all of your amazing support!!!! Carolynn (Forever Gabbys mommy)
