Maybe I am not anything special. Maybe my life isn’t meant to be like the ones shown in movies, full of heart rending loves that span generations and distances, of madcap adventures worthy of elegant novels, all while I float gracefully through life impervious to any danger or trouble. I am no great beauty, possess no unusual wit or cleverness; oftentimes my words thicken on my tongue, slur and blend together unintelligibly until they lose all meaning. My life’s path is as tenuous as a rainbow’s end, as everchanging as the glimmering streaks that a setting sun sends bleeding across the sky. But in the chaos and the disorder there is beauty; there is an art to the pattern by which things fall apart and collide back together again. Violence and peace, comfort and pain, freedom and restriction, are all spun together in this immaculate mess we call life. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
