Mayor Lee never met a corporation he didnt like, starting with Pacific Gas and Electric, evidently. Supervisor Avalos writes, We all know climate change is real. The Dept of the Environment of the City of San Francisco has a great Climate Action Strategy. The plan states that the single biggest step San Francisco can take to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to go to 100% renewable electricity generation for SF residents. Sounds great, but when Mayor Lee refuses to support moving from PG&E to SFs plan for clean energy generation, its plain to see the Mayor is at odds with his own Department of the Environment. SF can get a big media splash for our great Climate Action Strategy and continue to get national recognition for being a green city but when we dont follow through on our plans and bold statements, then we are green on paper alone. The Board of Supervisors hasnt given up on a clean power and we continue to search for alternatives to the PG&E monopoly and over-reliance of fossil fuel electricity generation.
