McAuley High School Niuean Group Results 2nd Overall on the MIT Niue Stage 1st Girls School Section 1st Ta Me (Niuean version of a waiata a ringa) 2nd Girls Leader And a few others (cant think of them right now... ) So proud of these 2 girls (and you too Bekah) . They started off as little munchkins at church hanging around Charlotte playing the piano in Primary and 14 years on theyre in their last year of High School and are going out with a bang. Sera was an awesome leader and to be placed 2nd out of 25 groups is mega huge. So honoured to know such a beautiful young woman who has amazing parents. And then theres our multi-cultural daughter that looks pakeha/palagi as compared to everyone else on the stage dancing her little bottom-socks off. Such a perfectionist with beautiful actions, timing and the grace of a toa afine =D Were so extremely proud of you Bronte. I thought about how far you have come and grown, and then I realised that I actually dont think Ive heard you speak a full English sentence in the last 4 years, its always bi-lingualed. You fobbing out and flipping in and out of one language to another frequently is so normal for you, that to others it was odd of you to join the Niuean group this year. But as parents we saw it as the next step in your journey of being able to walk amongst all creeds with ease. Pera i ou rangatira o nehera. You, our daughters are the prime examples of what Aotearoa can look like in todays society. Multicultural and Inclusive of other race, religion and ethnicity whilst proud of your own.
