McDonnell Douglas C-17A Globemaster III 07-7189 assigned to the 437th Airlift Wing, Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. This is the C-17 that had the mishap landing on runway 34R at Forward Operating Base (FOB) Shank, Afghaanistan. The MA sustained damage to the landing gear, cargo floor, undercarriage, antennas, and main structural components. There were no passengers, fatalities, significant injuries, or damage to civilian property. The estimated cost to repair the MA was $69.4 million. Now a couple years later and a lot of work put into her, she is ready to head back out for service for the USAF. Thanks to the Boeing crew for being friendly and giving me a wave and a thumbs up.
