McNally House Hospice is now hosting a monthly community acupuncture session as well as regular friday Qigong classes! Details below: Friday, March 28th, 2014 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at McNally House Hospice, 148 Central Ave, Grimsby “Qi-gong” with Christopher Cole, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner Qi-gong is a series of slow gentle movements, appropriate from all ages and physical capabilities that involves postures, breathing techniques, and mental focus practiced for health maintenance, healing and increasing vitality. Please wear loose comfortable clothing for the hour session. Qi-gong will be offered three Fridays each month. Please call 905-536-9229 to register as spaces are limited. Saturday, March 29th, 2014 10:30-11:30 parking lot of Beamers Memorial, 28 Quarry Road, Grimsby One Foot in Front of the Other grief walking group, 30-45 minute walk, rain or shine, followed by coffee at Station 1 at 11:30. Friday, April 4th, 2014 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at McNally House Hospice “Acupuncture for Grief, Loss and Extreme Stress” with Christopher Cole, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist. This treatment will be administered while you are seated, to five points in each ear. This will be a quiet, meditative group session that will last approximately 1 hour. Friday, April 4th, 2014 12:00p.m. - 1:30p.m. at McNally House Hospice ‘Soups On’, Lunch Social Come in and join us for a delicious soup prepared by our loving volunteers. We’ll share and enjoy food and conversation. Either stay following acupuncture session or just drop in for lunch! Wednesdays, April 9- May 14, 2014 6:30-8:30 ‘Remembering Journal Club’ Grief Group A 6 week closed group with a focus on journaling as a tool to remember and celebrate the life of your loved one. Sharing your story is important to healing. Now accepting registrations for group. Registration is limited so please email now to let me know if you are interested. Grief Study A Canadian researcher at the University of Maryland wants to determine how to best help people who have lost a loved one. She is testing a writing intervention for people who consider themselves to be spiritual or religious. The study is conducted on-line in English only. You may be eligible to participate if youve lost a loved one within the last 5 years and are currently feeling distress about it, and religion or spirituality matter to you at least somewhat. You will be asked to complete several questionnaires and be assigned a writing exercise to complete three times for 20 minutes over one week. Charity Auction - In support of McNally House Hospice This year’s auction will be held on Saturday March 29th, 2014 at Mountainview Christian Reformed Church, 290 Main St. East in Grimsby, Ontario. The preview of items being auctioned starts at 8:30 am with the sale beginning at 10 am. 2014, marks the 100th Anniversary of Cornflower Glass, and we are pleased to announce that our Auction will feature some early clear pieces. Other items include, silverware, antiques, collectibles, artwork and furniture, there is sure to be something for everyone! Want to Donate to this Year’s Auction? We are currently accepting items for the auction: silverware, antiques, collectibles, artwork, furniture and much more.
