Meadow Lakes Spud is dead now. The problem with this is that communication is lacking in how the process begins. People are not given full disclosure about the powers of a community council until the activists on the council have done years of work and are almost done with their work. The activists are working in good faith within the system that the borough set up to create community zoning, but the people within the community are really not aware of the imminent restrictions. Once they are aware of them they often react in ways that create animosity. This could all be avoided if the borough changes the system, and I think they will after this debacle. This is the third Spud that I am aware of that crashed and burned at the last stage. Thats a lot of wasted time and money. I think if the community were made more aware of the power of the community council the spud would never have happened, or at least would not have been so restrictive. Folks, get involved in your community councils. At least attend the meetings. The community council has the power to over ride your covenants, restrict your property rights and change the value of your land.
