Medical Nurse gets 3 years jail term for stealing mosquito nets A medical nurse, Josephine Sandi and one Abu Tholley were recently sentenced to three years jail term by Magistrate Ernest Gooding for stealing 25 bundles of mosquito bed nets. According to information monitored from Magburaka the northern headquarter town of Tonkolili District, Nurse Sandi was arrested with the 25 bundles of mosquito bed nets last week while herself and Tholley attempted to smuggle the items out of the town. The Magistrate said the accused should be punished because they were guilty of stealing from the people of Sierra Leone. He said as the Government of Sierra Leone and its partners are making frantic efforts to alleviate the suffering and challenges the country is facing in the health sector, the just concluded matter is a case that shows that there are unscrupulous people who are bent on seeing that the free health care initiative does not succeed.
