Meditation Don’t Be Overwhelmed by the Ways of the World December 22, 2014 It’s very difficult to avoid bad news. When you turn on the television or read stories on the internet, you see and hear news stories that cause you to say, “What in the world is going on?” Some co-workers, on the job, are always battling personal issues and troubles, and as soon as you come to work, they feel that they must unload their misery on you. Family and friends constantly draw you into their drama, and they are always trying to make you feel terrible about yourself and your life. When you try to get up, people try to knock you down again. The ways of the world will not lift you up or give you a helping hand. The source of your hope, in this troubled world, is God. He tells you in His word: “Do not conform any longer to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2) “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) “I have told you these things, so that in me, you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33) We can be sure that we will encounter negative, toxic situations and people, but we can have absolute faith in a loving God who understands and says, “I make known the end from the beginning…I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please… What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do.” (Isaiah 46:10-11) God will help you to overcome the ways of the world. His plan will bring peace, hope, love and joy to your spirit. Pray every day, and have faith in His process. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways.” (Isaiah 55:8) “You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace.” (Isaiah 55:12) Blessings, Louise Manigault. Share Inspirations with your family and friends.
