Meditation & Reading of the Teachings of the Buddha as Presented in the Discourses of the Pali Canon Friday, Sept 26, 7:00pm-9:00 pm abhayadana fb/groups/abhayadana LSLK (lslk.org) This week, we will reflect on the Avarana Sutta (AN 5.51) and a selection of the Kevatta Sutta (DN 11), two discourses in which the Buddha addresses overcoming the Five Hindrances. If you are interested in reading the Avarana Sutta (AN 5.51) and the selection of the Kevatta Sutta (DN 11) in advance, you can find it online at abhayadana/?page_id=1919 and abhayadana/?page_id=1921, respectively. In the second hour, we might listen to Ajahn Viradhammo’s “The Witness of Change,” a recorded talk that was offered at Abhayagiri Monastery on Aug 30, 2014. Thanks to the generosity of Losel Shedrup Ling of Knoxville (lslk.org), Ajahn Punnadhammo will be returning to Knoxville for a week in November 2014! If you are planning to attend any of Ajahn’s teachings - or just wish to support an organization that regularly invites wonderful teachers to Knoxville - please support LSLK! LSLK has been extremely generous in allowing so many of us to have a place in Knoxville where we can meet, practice together, hear amazing teachings, and grow spiritually. Donations to LSLK are always strongly encouraged and will be greatly appreciated! (Please go to lslk.org and use the PayPal link at the top right corner to make a donation; theres also a box in the shrine room for donations.)
