Meet Barkley a 15 yr old yellow lab and his 11 year old son Nestle a chocolate lab. These two have been chained for their entire lives. They have literally spent thousands of days enduring the bitter cold or blazing hot sun, sitting in their own urine and feces in the same 7 foot radius. Never in 15 years have they ever slept on a bed, never been inside a home and have been horribly neglected. They were recently seized by Animal Control in Maine because of their horrible living conditions and profound neglect. They are currently at Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick, Maine. Both these guys are looking for their retirement homes. We would love them to stay together, not necessary, but we understand that taking in two elderly labs can be costly and emotional (its unclear how long Barkley has left due to his age and condition).
