Meet another Amazing Warrior Friend of mine Nathan Denver Calhoun !! I found a spot on my neck and was diagnosed in 2008 with stage 3 melanoma at the age of 28. After my first petscan, showing no signs of melanoma, I was instructed to come back for scans 6 months later. My scans showed that it had spread to my lungs and unfortunately had to find a clinical trial as they were unable to treat me. I was admitted to NIH and underwent a thoracotomy immediately to be a part of the TIL program. Surprisingly, I had a complete response to high dose IL-2 and remained cancer free for 14 months not having to complete the TIL program. In 2010 I had a recurrence and was admitted immediately into the TIL program followed by another complete response. I have been NED for over 2 years. I am currently living in Charleston, SC doing what I love. Im so lucky to make a living playing music and have written and recorded several songs influenced by my last 6 years with this disease.
