□ Meet the Man □ Ejike Ian Chukwudum .... the #Epitome of selflessness! He is my immediate elder brother ... and like all otoro onye, na onyes , we may not see eye to eye in every thing- hell sometimes our relationship is cat-and-dog like at best; but the bond between us runs deep.... and the reason why I will forever hold this easygoing and awesome dude to a high esteem is way too obvious. Maybe an insight will help yall understand! □ In the Beginning .... My mum tells me this dude inspired my first sets of meaningful babbles. At a very tender age [ somewhere between 1 and 2yrs] , I gave him the name Didikemuwa in an attempt to call him as my mum does ...Ejikemeuwa. How the two names ever sounded alike to my young mind still beats my imagination till date! Lol. Then later I christened him Daddy-boy which musmsi still calls him till this day. But contrary to what it may seem, Daddy-boy does not in any way denote Daddys boy [even though he was that been a smart ass], but me trying to call him by his pet name Ejy-boy. Hehehe... now I know some of you may think I had some kind of Aphasia growing up ....but such was the fondness this dude inspired in the fertile grounds of my young mind that it was constantly growing beautiful flowers of pet names for him[I had no such names for my other siblings..... wow, come to think of it! ] □ His protection of me .... As meek and easygoing as he appears .... dude is but a sleeping nwa agu, one whose tail [i.e me... the odudu nwa] when touched springs into action with all ferocity ! An anecdote from our secondary school days may do justice to this claim: I was in JSS2 then and 11years; and he was in SS1 and 13. We were playing football during the break period, and this senior boy ran into me head on, injuring me. Next I was down with my back on the ground. When I managed to get back up to my feet and made to complain, the senior intimidated me into silence with his defiant what are you gon do about it akimbo pose. I dont know who called my brother .... but all I know was that in a split second he was by my side, carefully examining me as if to make a diagnosis! When he finished, he turned arround and faced the senior guy with eyes cold as winter and said .... should ANYTHING happen to that CHILD[ see me ooo .... 13 year old calling 11 year old me a child! Lol].....! He just let it hang like that, then spun arround on his heels and walked away. There must have been something spine chilling and menancing in that voice that the guy came begging me with quivering voice and trembling hands .... begging to bribe me with an ice cream! Lol .... thats my brother the PROTECTOR ! □ Sacrifices.... Meet Ejyk the matyr of selflessness! His selflessness knows no bounds especially when it comes to disrespectful isi aki like me. Lol. Examples of this abounds: him giving up his birth right [of going to the university before me] so I could go to med school, while he was busy toiling to make ends meet; him giving up his savings so I wouldnt have worries to distract me while in school ..... The list is endless, but the one I want to elaborate on is this: In my final year, when I was preparing for my finals and was writing my project..... he gave up his laptop for 3 good months!!!!!!!!!!! Now I know yall will be wondering where the sacrifice in that is! Well here it is: Dude is a Tech toys freak! Lol.... Gee .... dude practically sleeps with his toys as if they were his children. The easiest way to get him worked up is through his toys, but he gave one up for me for 3 straight months! Hehehe... now thats the extent to which he was willing to sacrifice for me. □ #GRATITUDE Thats all I can express bro ..... am forever indebted to you! You Rock!!!
