Meg and Rasty were recently rescued from a high kill shelter in SC. Weve been asked to help find wonderful homes for them up here. They are 6 month old lab/hound mixes. The male, Rasty, has since had 1 of his eyes removed, but they both remain happy & lovable dogs. A home for both together would be amazing for them! Theyve been in foster in SC together w the amazing vet who is restoring them to health! If you can help us get these sweet dogs into a home, please go to nycsecondchancerescue.org now to apply!! Notes from their SC rescue: Meg (short for Nutmeg) is a 6 month old lab/hound mix who beat the odds and survived life in a high kill shelter as well as the dreaded parvovirus. She was brought to the shelter by someone who found her with her brother. She was covered in demodex mange (non-contagious) when she first arrived and cowered in the corner with her brother. She was rescued on her euthanasia date and has since made great progress in foster care. Although she is still shy, she is warming up to people. She is very dog friendly and gets along with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. She can be startled by rowdy children. She seeks out attention but is generally nervous around new people. Rasty is a 6 month old lab/hound mix who also overcame parvo and life in a high kill shelter. Due to severe demodex mange, he lost function of one eye and, therefore, it was removed. Although he only has one eye, he doesnt know hes any different from his friends! He is playful and super dog friendly. He is very lovable and enjoys attention from his foster parents.
