Megan says: Hi mommies! I am in need of a little advice. I am a first time mom of a little boy who will be 2 in about 4 months. We have had a great bedtime routine since he was brought home from the hospital but I have always sat in the room with him until he falls asleep. I dont hold him and he has always been in his own bed but he knows I sit with him so now its expected. It used to not be a problem because 10-15 minutes tops he was usually out. Here lately its been at least 30 minutes to over an hour. I just cant do this anymore. My husband suggests I just put him down and walk out but he screams bloody murder and I feel so guilty making him go to sleep like that. Have any of you been through a similar situation and how did you break your children from this? How did you handle it if your child screamed and how long did it take for him/her to get used to the new way of doing things? Thanks in advance!
