Melisa was the lead singer in the first band I played out in since my college days. She is an amazing singer, who constantly drew comparisons to Janis Joplin - yes, shes that good. She has cancer. After several surgeries, including a double-mastectomy, and losing the vision in one of her eyes, the cancer returned. Stage 4 in the brain, spinal fluid, optic nerve, and nerve stems in her lower lumbars. Incurable. She is 36, and will be leaving behind three kids (16,14, & 6). You can help out by simply coming out to see three very entertaining bands (including food) for less then youd spend at the movies.
