My son whom is 8 yrs old is autistic (high functioning) he is currently in a mainstream class and has his smaller special ed class when needed during the day as well , along with his therapy has been with this school almost 3 yrs and knows all the therapist and advisers very well and is comfortable with them. Well we are now goin to be moving at the end of October to a small town 2 hrs away due to a job change for me . The school does have all the things my son will need in place for him, i have checked and talked with them. I am a single mother with my son and 6 yr old daughter as well . I took this new job for better pay and i will have more time with my kidos but i am sooo nervous and worried how he will handle the move. ANY advice on how i might make this transition easier for my son and myself?
