Members info - DRY RIVER BEDS, RAMBLAS, FLOOD PLAINS, LOW LYING CAR PARKS Its nice to stroll along a dry river bed or cut across a Rambla or even use one as a short cut to beat the traffic. It may be that the car park you use frequently in town is in fact a flood plain or, worst still, that lovely paved park area in town with its little cafe is in fact one of those dry river beds thats not flooded for years......The fact remains that as we approach the coming wet season perhaps now is the time to start turning our brains onto the fact that we do get sudden and horrendous downpours and that any dry river, flood plain etc. has been created by the waters for a reason.......Remember as well that some of these dry rivers stretch way off inland and you may not see the weather where you are that could cause the river to flood!!!.....And finally, you beach loving types enjoying the sunshine; do consider not pitching your towel or indeed walking your dog, when the time comes to allow dogs in the beach, in front of river or stream outfalls......It may seam low risk but a risk is a risk none the less......Thank you for your consideration on this matter :)
