Members of ACUs Black Students Association, along with other students, stood in front of Moody Coliseum wearing white as students filed in for chapel as a means of encouraging administrators and fellow students to take racism seriously. This is in part a reaction to the fake parking violation ticket left on an ACU students car on March 18 that contained racial slurs and other offensive material. ACUs Vice President Allison Garrett, along with other administrators and faculty, also wore white during chapel proceedings as a means of showing a common desire among faculty and students that this conversation is one that should be ongoing at ACU. ACU Police are still investigating who is responsible for the tickets, not all of which contained racially offensive material, though all were offensive in one form or another. We will have a followup tonight regarding this ongoing conversation on campus and any new developments that may have emerged in the investigation.
