Mercury President Luke Lewis and I, went to Jamaica three times in the nineties, and each time he took a few boxes of his latest releases with him, which he himself distributed to various tuned in bods on the island. A few years later, I started to get royalties (albeit tiny) from Jamaica, for Drink Called Love, and an old chum of mine who lives in Ocho Rios said she had heard my stuff on the radio there. If I have told you about this before, forgive me, but it is one of the best weird ones in a long list. The idea that some youngster in the hills of Jamaica could be exposed to our music by way of the radio is so exciting. Anyway, this track has some nice chord changes that feel reassuringly familiar, and the down home video is exactly what I wanted to do in the Delta and Hurricane videos.
