Message From Early Life CEOs/Psychologists: As another school - TopicsExpress

Message From Early Life CEOs/Psychologists: As another school year winds down, as fellow parents, we have to evaluate the academic and emotional health of our combined 8 children in preparation for the next school year. We ask ourselves the following questions: 1. How successful academically is my child? 2. Is my child happy in his/her learning environment? 3. Does my child dread going to school? If so, why is that? Depression? Anxiety? Undetected learning disability? 5. Do I have an independent, updated, and objective road map outside of the schools evaluations/opinions/test scores? 6. Did this years homework load seem unrealistic for my children? Did he/she seem lost? 7. Is my child in the most appropriate learning environment? Does he/she need additional private assistance? These are some of the questions we have to ask ourselves as we prepare for the next school year for our children. The main question that we all as parents have to ask is simply this: How is this working for my child/teen? If this (school performance/emotional health) is not where you desire it to be for your child, then perhaps this is the year when you decide to become the resident expert of your own child. We can discuss these concerns and get you on the path of becoming a better informed expert during a 2-hour initial consultation with our education psychology clinic. Our current wait time is about 7-10 days, however, we tend to fill up quickly during the Spring when consultation wait times can become as long as 2 months. Our roles are centered on providing you with data to make informed decisions regarding your childs academic and mental health welfare, not to fight the school system. The first step is to have objective, professional data regarding the current level of functioning of your child. You, as the resident expert of your child, have a wealth of information that needs to be optimally utilized. We look forward to having this private conversation with you shortly. We can be reached at (801) 984-2877 (South Jordan, UT clinic). The contact information for our Valencia, CA clinic is on our website (earlylifepsych).
