Messages like this are why we LOVE our sport and our AASCF family.. To be a cheerleading dad. So to be proud of your kids and there team is one thing. To be amazed of the courage, sportsmanship, there strength is another. We are competing at AASCF Winterfest for our first competition of the year.CADA Commandos take the floor with the usual focus to be there best that they can be. Routine starts they in there zone, in sync working as one. When you see a flyer go to push off and twist and roll an ankle. At height above her base she asked to stop in tears. Some for herself, but more for the team. Big brother picks her up rushes her off, and gives her to the coach. Big brother ready to shoot back on as the music stops and the team leaves the floor. As they all gather there thoughts not knowing to any supporters, that one of the bases actually was hurt as well. Her neck and shoulder. So at backstage there is a coach keeping everyone cool, the studio owners not worried about the comp. But only there athletes. Ice, heat packs, strapping and a lot of concerned faces. The team was offered another slot from AASCF, and with a lot of umming the athletes that were injured decided to return. The commandos returned an hour later with a modified routine. Sitting on the seat just watching every move, flawless. They left the floor in arms of each other, as a team only can. I have been a supporter of this sport since 2007. And will say to all parents looking for a sport for there kids, to help them focus, communicate and be the best they can be. This is it. A big thank you to Holly La Swan for introducing my family to cheer. And to the event organizer Rosemary Sims-James and Stephen James for providing them with these opportunities. From a proud Dad
