Messages of Support to PCS The following messages of support for O15 have been received from: Unite the Union, Pat Rafferty, Regional Secretary Scotland Could you please pass on my, and Unite’s, message of support to all your members taking part in industrial action tomorrow. My thoughts are with you and the PCS members – your fight is our fight. In solidarity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PCS Scottish Government West Central Scotland Branch, Alec ONeill, Branch secretary On behalf of Ken Reid (Chair) and my colleagues in the West Central Scotland Branch; my colleagues and I will be standing with you in spirit tomorrow and we will be withdrawing our labour next week as part of this noble campaign against a pay deal that simply worsens the cost of living crisis we each face in ever more difficult terms. Against a backdrop of bonuses for bankers and proposed wage increases for Members of Parliament (who already take home quite significant paycheques) it beggars belief that hard working people are being offered a pay deal that doesn’t even match inflation. A day’s pay in these circumstances hurts our household budgets all the more, but, it is a sacrifice we must make in order to be clear to the Westminster parliament and devolved administrations – enough is enough. With best wishes for a safe and peaceful day. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Registers of Scotland Branch, PCS, John Jamieson, Branch Secretary Could you please pass on the full support of the Branch to our colleagues in the Westminster associated Departments taking action today on Pay, Jobs, Pensions and Terms & Conditions of Service. Our struggle is very much their struggle, the 1% Pay Cap applies equally to Civil Servants in Scottish Departments and smashing that cap is the only way to make a path for fairer pay in the Civil Service. Together we are Stronger! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Phil Mc Garry (RMT Political Officer) and Chair of Peoples Assembly Scotland Please accept this message of Solidarity in your members struggle for a decent Wage Increase and opposition to the massive Civil Service job losses. Our thoughts are with you, and we wish you well in your endeavours to pursue the tenets of Natural Justice. The right to Strike is accordance with the ILO Conventions and is a basic Human Right. Yours in Sincere Solidarity. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Neil Findlay MSP I hope that the action on October 15th, which will see thousands of public sector workers and from several trade unions over the last couple of days, will make the Government realise that their current austerity agenda needs to be halted and a radical alternative proposed instead. Please send my solidarity greeting to all your colleagues who are taking action alongside you. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STUC General Secretary, Grahame Smith The STUC send their support to PCS on the action they are taking over pay. We at the STUC wish for a successful outcome to your dispute with the Government and the protection of your members’ jobs and conditions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Manuel Cortes TSSA Solidarity with PCS members on strike today against our deep cost of living crisis – Britian needs a pay rise! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kevin Lindsay, ASLEF Solidarity and best wishes to all those striking for a fair and decent wage rise. Solidarity to PCS taking strike action today. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NIPSA Solidarity to PCS taking strike action today.
