Meteorologist Mike Hoffman WNDU: A line of strong thunderstorms is racing eastward at 35 mph across Michiana. Any part of this line could have sudden wind gusts past 60 mph along with large hail. There is a Severe Thunderstorm WARNING for St. Joseph, western Elkhart and Cass County, MI, until 2:45pm. At the moment, the line is moving into western Cass County, Mi, South Bend, and then back to western Starke County. There are also some spotty, heavy, storms ahead of the line. Everybody is going to get rain, and in some cases a lot of rain, over the next 2 hours as this line blasts eastward. I will be occasionally tracking the storms on WNDU, but with a line like this, as it approaches your area, its a good idea to be indoors and get to a safe spot. We wont be able to track each part of the line continuously, so just use common sense. I will post additional information when we get it.
