Meteorologist Mike Hoffman WNDU: Latest on the potential for severe weather... - Our dew point (amount of moisture in the air) has actually dropped this evening...that definitely limits our severe weather risk. - The line of storms is now slower than it was, and actually has very little lightning...this also limits our severe risk. - The Storm Prediction Center just put out a statement saying that a tornado watch being issued in our area is unlikely (20% chance)...this limits it also. So, I believe we will probably NOT get into a watch, and probably NOT get any severe weather this evening or tonight. I will still watch things just in case. We will still get heavy downpours when the line gets here, and probably some thunder and lightning. Since the line has slowed down considerably, I would estimate that the leading edge of the showers and storms gets into areas near US-421 by 10pm...and into South Bend closer to midnight....
