Miami Workshop - Day 1 Dodging and Extending attacks were trained to coordinate the shoulder and waist to generate the whipping power characteristic of Phoenix system. Dodging attack training emphasized combining a minimum of two forces per strike with both arms working together in a tightly interlocked fashion. This will give a tight integration of defense and offense. Extending attacks feature a serrating motion with the forearm to break arms, and attack the neck and body. Application of these strikes focused on combining striking with throwing to execute knockdowns. Isometric strengthening postures finished out the day.
