Michael Jackson auf Garrard - this was from the Vienna Klangbilder Show 2011 - The TV Guys came in when I was playing the Transcription Reference 401 ( You see a TR501 next to it ) The purpose to use Michael Jackson on the 401TR /electronical Power Supply/Naim Aro/ Lyra Skala was to demonstrate base and resolution . If You check the Black and White Song there is someone banging a Door in the somg - and that is hell of impressive. I think that is what attracted the camera guys to come in and check where that noise came from... Have to get accross to many DIY Garrard301/401 owners -TR means downgrading knowledge from all out 501 epertise to the historical ones - Without a lot of knowledge and work NO historical deck can achieve a performance like that . YOU GOT TO TAKE WOW AND FLUTTER SERIOUS! and only the TR modifications allow regarding details and clarity to compete also at a pricepoint between 20.000 -30.000 Euros ( The TR incl the PSU and Mods are sold around 12.000 Euro and the basis are used 301 or 401 that we select parts but also buy around 600-900 Euros on the market to start from) I have used that particular 401TR of mine on many shows the last Years, ETF, Frickelfesy Will post a link asop to give an idea. - The TR knowledge realized for the 501 design opens still another chapter entirely and if nothing else - I am proud off this work and fullfilled with the sound I get to hear my records with - ( and relieved that my own turntables always survive the transport to all thise shows....)
