Michael was one of our first clients. All he wanted was a light weight wheel chair so his friends could take him out of his apartment and to the beach. Michael is a paraplegic. He has no income and his medical insurance does not cover wheelchairs. We were able to provide Michael with a light weight wheelchair. He will be able to use that wheelchair for as long as he needs it. For you and me, walking and being able to leave the house or apartment is often taken for granted. But for Michael, being confined to his apartment means he can no longer participate in life. His first outing after getting the wheelchair was to the beach. Remember, travel a mile in someone elses shoes and then be thankful for what you have.
