Mid Winter Trip. It doesnt take much to make us happy. Today - TopicsExpress

Mid Winter Trip. It doesnt take much to make us happy. Today Rita and I drove the 60 miles across the flint hills of Kansas to Manhattan, home of Kansas State University. A little snow dotted the landscape, standing out amongst the herds of black cattle. Main reason for the journey was to get Ritas nails fixed and to stop by Wal Mart. I went to Aldis and bought some cut green beans, a lady commented to me that I was buying a lot of them, You must like em? she said, I just grinned as it was a question that needed no answer. Along with that, we visited Dillards at the Mall, picked up my clothes at the dry cleaners, got a nice grande coffee at Starbucks, picked up some lamp parts at Menards, found some birthday cards at Dollar Tree and ate at the Sirloin Stockade with the ranchers and their wives, construction workers, old retired couples and a few soldiers from Ft. Riley. The temp ranged into the mid forties causing everyone to happily move about. The KSU students are still on break so the town wasnt so crowded, actually no one honked at me one time for driving so slow or missing my turn. On the way home we stopped by the Frankfort Care Home and talked to Ivan, he said he wasnt ready to go home with us. Once back in our little town it was dark as we picked up the mail and drove into the garage at the little house on the prairie. We had a good time together, just the two of us. It was all so uncomplicated.
