Middle School Daily Announcements January 22, 2014 The Clinton County R-III school district has decided to implement the option of a two hour late start in place of missing a full day due to inclement weather. In the event of an unscheduled late start, you will be notified by usual means such as local television stations, textcaster, and the school website. The two hour late start will apply to every week day. Therefore, the starting time at Middle School and High School will be 10:25 a.m. no matter which day the late start occurs, even Wednesday. Yearbooks can be purchased before school on Fridays in the middle school commons or anytime in the middle school office at a cost of $25.00. The PTA is challenging the middle school to see which class can collect the most labels and box tops. The goal is for each class to bring in 700 labels between now and the end of the school year. That’s only 100 labels per month! If you reach your goal, your class will get chips and pop from PTA. Collection boxes are located in the middle school office. Salvaging Sisterhood Night Out will be January 31st from 5-9pm. This is a change from the original date that was given. Girls that are participating need to turn in permission slips and $4.00 to Mrs. Hedrick by January 24th. The high school is selling t-shirts for Courtwarming. The cost is $10 and orders are due by Jan. 24th. Order forms are available in the middle school office if you’d like to order. The theme is “Welcome to the Jungle” and a picture of the t-shirt design is on the order form. The 8th grade class will be participating in the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). On January 30th they will take the Technology and Engineering Literacy Assessment. The school spelling bee will be held for 6th & 7th grade on Jan. 28th and for 8th grade on Jan. 29th. Please see Mrs. Clements in the library to get a copy of the words to study. The middle school choir will need to meet in the middle school commons tomorrow during Tiger Time for a yearbook picture. The Middle School Academic Team bus will leave tomorrow at 3:45pm for their meet in Easton. *Parents: As winter approaches, if you have not signed up for text caster, our school notification system, you can do so from our school website at ccr3.k12.mo.us. Once on the website just click on the Communications tab on the top of the page, then click on Textcaster and follow the prompts. If your student is in sports, you will need to also check the MS Athletics/Activities box so you will receive important information regarding game changes, cancellations, and etc. If you prefer not to receive a text message in the event of school closings, information will still be provided to the local news channels.
