Midwest Rescue of Illinois, Inc. shared Wheldon Law - Specialist Canine and Criminal Lawyerss photo. Let Lynchs death be a lesson for all of us. Police came to the owners house with a warrant to seize her dangerous dog as a suspected pit bull type. Threatened with prosecution and unsure of her rights her young owner signed him over but then changed her mind. TOO LATE as the police took Lynch straight to the vet and had him put to sleep. Lynch has never done anything wrong in his life and was a much loved family pet. DO NOT SIGN OVER YOUR DOGS TO POLICE UNTIL YOU HAVE TAKEN ADVICE AND THOUGHT LONG AND HARD ABOUT IT! Also, reach out to your local rescue groups for legal advice resources. Far too many times figures of authority bully people into signing their dogs over, only to result in the death of their beloved pet. Do not allow ANYONE to threaten you in any way. Contact an animal advocate lawyer immediately to find out just what your rights are (many give free initial council).
